It is a part of the municipality of Arzachena and forms a peninsula that extends from the Arzachena-Gulf, to the Cugnana-golf. The Consortium of Costa Smeralda, was born in 1962 by the initiative of the prince Ishmaelites Karim Aga Khan,who has taken considerable part in promoting and transforming Sardinia into the holidayresort it is today. - The "PADULA DI LU SALONI" is a small "wetland" and located between Cannigione and Arzachena.

- The "PADULA DI LU SALONI" as well as having a typical mediteranian vegetation, is a place of wintering and breeding grounds for many species of waterfowl, in addition, you can observe several types of invertebrates and several species of sweetwater fish.
- It is in short short, a place of great natural and touristic interrest and is to be appreciated especially in spring and autumn.
